How can we help you?

Before you join

Don’t let the word ‘virtual’ in the name fool you; this is indeed an actual physical address. A virtual address allows companies to establish a presence in a prestigious location without having to pay hefty rent or deal with the lease. You can trade with the virtual business address both nationally and globally.

The virtual business address usually comes as a part of a virtual office package. You must purchase a virtual address from a provider like Marsh Virtual Office. And, once the provider has verified all your details, you can start associating your business with the address. All your parcels, letters, and other communications received at the address will be forwarded to you by email or postal service.

There are plenty of plausible reasons to use a virtual address for your business. First of all, this is an ideal solution for companies, entrepreneurs, SMEs, startups, and freelancers that don’t have a physical office but still wish to promote their business through a desirable location.

The benefits of having a virtual address are numerous, but here are the top three:

  • It helps boosts your company’s image in terms of credibility and trustworthiness
  • If you work or do business from your place of residence, it’ll safeguard your home address
  • It’s definitely far less expensive than leasing an office or paying rent

The answer is a resounding yes — using virtual addresses is standard practice and legal. Not only are providers of virtual addresses regulated and licensed but the service itself is also recognised by Companies House and HMRC.

Every company registered with Companies House is legally required to provide an official correspondence address. This is what’s referred to as the Registered Office Address. It’s the address to which UK government agencies deliver all legal notices.

During the formation of a limited company, the law requires that at least one shareholder and one director be appointed. The director’s service address is the official correspondence address of the said appointed director.

That’s another resounding yes. The vast majority of virtual address providers (including Marsh Virtual Office) accept clients from both inside the UK and abroad. The UK government may have some restrictions on who can purchase and use virtual business addresses based on where you live.

After you register

You will be required to email Marsh Virtual Office proof of both your UK address and identity.

That’s right – you need to send proof of ID and registered address documents to us to verify your identity.

For business address proof, you can send a utility bill, a bank statement, a government letter, or similar documents. For proof of identity, you’ll need to provide a valid driving license, passport, or similar ID documents.

No, the information on the proof of address document must coincide with the registered address. If not, that won’t be acceptable for our services.

The joining process

As of now, we don’t allow clients to come and pick up their letters from our business premises for security purposes.

All things considered, we do everything we can to process and forward your mail within the same day of receiving it.

If you don’t have the right service or an active forwarding address, we can hold your letters for up to 14 days on our premises. You’ll get a proper detailed notification about your letters.

You can always purchase an additional letter forwarding allowance under your online account with us.

We’ll send you an email, notifying you that you have received a letter and that it has been forward to you.

You can renew your current Virtual Office package or switch to a different one from the ‘packages’ section of our site. Be sure to sign in to your account before making the purchase. In addition to that, you will get an email from us reminding you that your account is about to expire, plus how to renew.

We forward all letters and communications through Royal Mail’s First Class service.
